Belgium has a number of commercial airports but the principal international airports are Brussels Airport and Charleroi Airport (or ‘Brussels South’).
From Brussels Airport you can take the train to Gent-Sint-Pieters. The train station is located on level -1 of the terminal, at a small distance from the arrivals hall (2nd floor). You can purchase your ticket at the travel counter or book it online.

If there is no direct connection at the hour of arrival, you can choose to change trains in the station of Brussels-North, -Central or -South. The journey takes around 1 hour.
By train & bus
Brussels (only 30 minutes away from Ghent) is connected via high-speed train with some major cities like Paris (Thalys), Amsterdam (Thalys), London (Eurostar)… One can also travel to Ghent from other international destinations.
If you are planning to travel to Ghent by bus or coach, you can contact Eurolines. The bus stops near the main train station (Gent-Sint-Pieters).
Ghent is at the crossroads of two great European motorways:
There are taxis available (all day and night) at the left of the main entrance / exit of the station.
They are located next to the Kiss and Ride zone, below the bus station.
You can also take a tram, but only during the day (06.00 am till 11.00 pm).
Tram line 1 (red line, direction Evergem or Wondelgem) stops in the front left of the main entrance of the station (platform 2), and goes towards the city centre (eg. Korenmarkt). There is a tram approximately every 6 minutes.
